Jesus--He Can Move the Mountains

So this was a very busy weekend--with not a single photo to document it! Friday morning I left to meet up with my mommy group so that we could leave for Portland....without our kids!!!! Yeah!!!! My mom and dad wanted to take my kids to the Puyallup Spring Fair, so I dropped them off in Puyallup and headed on my way. I hear that the kids had a blast, saw cows, dogs, pigs, touch snakes (ewwww) and rode on the carousel. I think Grandpa and Grandma Tractor might even have pictures of it...but I don't.
Friday night, Tadd took the kids to the J family's house for a birthday party for their youngest--who doesn't seem so young anymore. I hear they had a lot of fun there. Still, no pictures.
And I--oh boy, did I have fun. My girls and I went to Portland for a Beth Moore conference. We heard a lot of wonderful nuggets on crucifying self from the book of Galatians. We chatted the night away when we should have been sleeping (since we didn't have kids). We ate snacks and breakfast and a delicious lunch. I'm still dreaming about the avocado egg rolls that Angie bought us. And guess what? Yep, no pictures. I didn't even take the camera.
And now moving week is upon is. I had to stop packing this morning to take Caroline to the doctor because she is quite sick. We found out she has pneumonia. Poor baby. She's miserable. But now we have antibiotics and instructions to keep her comfortable with Tylenol.

I do need to say that I am living off of all of your prayers--so thank you all. This whole move has been so terribly hard on me. I, who am not much of a crier, feel like I've cried enough tears to flood our little town for a third time this season. I, like Peter, have gotten my eyes off of the Lord and onto the crashing waves and raging storm. I know that Jesus can and does move mountains. But I am learning that sometimes He doesn't. Instead He asks us to go over them. And boy did I want them moved. But I also know that all I have to do is put my hand in "the Hand of the Man who walks on water, put my hand in the Hand of the Man who calms the sea" as the song from Ezra's tape says. Thank you all for the encouraging emails and comments you've sent reminding me to do so. I so need those reminders, because I hear that the view on the other side is something to behold.
I apologize for all the talk and no pictures. I should be busy enough from now on out to be kept from such blither blather : )

Sometimes a break from the camera is a good thing. :) I hope KaKine is feeling better soon, poor little girl. What a strange season to catch pneumonia in, I don't think of it as being a spring sickness! It was so nice out today that kids were swimming in Birch Bay!

Oh Brooke...I'm praying for you all...please let me know if I can be of any help the end of this week...meanwhile, as sick as Caroline must have been feeling, her "bless you" after someone sneezed yesterday was truly hilarious...I tried not to laugh too hard in the middle of meeting! ;) Hope she gets better quickly!

So glad you got some girl time.. that really sounds like fun! Keep your chin up, and your eyes on the Son! :-) I bet you have butterflies in your stomach ALL DAY LONG, these days, dontcha!? I know I did.

My advice? Take one evening, send the kids off with their grandparents, and spend it with your husband, visiting places that meant alot to both of you in your relationship/early marriage days, before kids, before you go. You'll come away refreshed, reminded that you'll follow him anywhere, and looking forward to the next stage of your life. You'll "say goodbye" to so many things with your kids, but you need to do it for the two of you, as well. It helped me anyway, I could look forward then, instead of dwelling on what I was leaving.

I'll keep you in my prayers! :-) And if you need a potty stop when you pass through our town, let me know! :-)

Brooke, I haven't had to leave home so I don't know what you are feeling...but do know that I am praying for you all that you will adjust quickly. Maybe you will find our sunshine worth it! I am sorry to hear Caroline is sick. actually so am I, with a sore throat and the works. To the Dr I go today....got to be well when the kids get here! I am sure looking forward to your coming....

Well, I'm sitting here teary eyed reading your blog and all the comments. Must be the pregnancy hormones as I'm not much of a crier either! We're praying for you guys with the move this week and for Caroline too. Give her a snuggle from me. Amelia sends a hug her way too!

Brooke, Your tears are such a good thing, I'm glad you're free to admit that. This is a traumatic move and has been huge as it strung out for months. But poor Caroline, Hope those antibiotics kick in fast!! We'll continue to pray!

Moving can be such a moving experience. ha ha he he. Sorry. that was pretty sad.

I'm sorry you have to deal with a sick little girl on top of it all. Leaving home stinks. And saying good-bye stinks. Changes stink. What I think you need after all this is a nice relaxing trip to San Diego.

Thinking and praying for you all day long.

Brooke...Talitha loves to sing the song "Mighty to Save." Which goes like this...He can move the mountians, my God is mighty to save, he is mighty to save. Forever, author of salvation, He rose and conquered the grave, Jesus conquered the grave. Love you and I am so glad you moved near my house in middle school :)
May you have peace. Love to you and your family! Carmen
