This is my very special friend, Sarah. I met her when I started working at her family's coffee shop, Bertolino's in Tacoma. She was my barista buddy back then. We pulled shots and foamed milk together when we weren't busy hiding behind the cups and spying on our customers trying to figure out who was dating, who was married, who were siblings, what clothes were cute on which girls, who might be friendlier than they looked, who might need a kind word the next morning, etc. Oh, we had such fun! I thank the Lord often for leading me to that job. Not only did I love it--but I made friends in the Lord who will last a life time and into eternity. Sarah got married in August 2001. Tadd and I got married a year later in September 2002. Then she and her husband had a first born red headed boy in December 2004 and Tadd and I had a first born red headed boy a year later in 2005. We continued the year apart tradition with our second kiddos as well. Fast forward a bit and we are expecting babies 5 (for her) and 4 (for me) TOGETHER! Hurray!
Miss Sarah is just two weeks ahead of me. Here we are two weeks ago at 35 and 37 weeks. She's having a boy and I'm having a surprise. It's so fun calling and texting each other often to see what we are each craving, how we are feeling, what the doctor/midwife said at the last appointment and laughing over weight gain, water retention, varicose veins and dealing with the older kids. Pretty soon we will each have a squalling little bundle in our arms and our bellies will be a little bit smaller. If only labor and delivery didn't stand between this picture and that moment!
Thanks, Sar-Bear for sharing the pictures you took with me. I will have such fun looking back on them 20 years from now.
In other news, I have about 15 posts lined up in my mind. I write them out each morning between 4-6 when I am only half asleep. While I "enjoy rolling through the night like a whale" as Sarah texted me before bed last night. Perhaps sometime during the day I'll get the energy and desire to actually type them out. With three weeks to go until the due date I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed. I feel as though I can't possibly fit any more baby inside...but I don't have much choice in that matter. And I have about 3 months of projects to get done before he/she arrives. Time to get busy! If only I could get some of that magical "nesting" energy I hear so much about....

Very cute pics! How fun to have someone to share pregnancy pains with ;)!
I'm sure you don't feel cute, but this really is a CUTE photo! It true it takes about 20 years to appreciate any photo of yourself tho. :) It is definitely fun to go through the ups and downs and roll abouts of pregnancy, along with a friend. :) For me its my sister, just a couple weeks behind me this time around.
Great photos. It's nice to have a lifelong friend from the coffee shop. :-)
